About The Position

Case Assistant for JASA. JASA is one of NYC’s largest and most trusted nonprofits serving older adults. Our dedicated professionals help improve the lives of thousands of seniors through impactful, mission-driven work. This role supports the infrastructure and outreach efforts that connect vulnerable seniors to life-essential services. It engages in a balanced mix of professional office administration, compliance research, and public-facing community events. You will partner closely with clients, colleagues, community organizations, and external service providers. You will manage essential administrative workflows, keep operations audit-ready, and help coordinate our community presence. As a Case Assistant, you will provide critical operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of our services. This dynamic role balances general office management, financial tracking, and calendar coordination with active participation in community outreach, research, and funder compliance reviews to support NYC’s older adults.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with the ability to quickly learn and navigate program-specific software.
  • Exceptional capability to organize complex information, prioritize tasks effectively, work under tight deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and individual values as they relate to serving vulnerable and at-risk older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Execute general administrative tasks including answering phones, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing, and purchasing office and client supplies.
  • Process, monitor, and track work-related expenses to maintain accurate budget records.
  • Maintain a master calendar of critical dates and deadlines; schedule and coordinate work-related appointments.
  • Coordinate with community-based organizations to schedule events; actively participate in community presentations, education, and outreach activities.
  • Conduct case reviews to ensure strict agency and funder compliance; perform research to support program needs.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional workshops, and assigned trainings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, colleagues, and service providers to gather necessary information and provide operational support.
