About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented, analytical self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills to join the Supreme Court Clerk’s Office. This role operates under the direction of Counsel to the New Jersey Supreme Court Boards on Attorney Certification and Continuing Legal Education. The primary functions include performing case management related to attorney certification applications, CLE provider applications, and attorney CLE compliance reports and audits. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth and is committed to upholding the highest standards of independence, integrity, fairness, and quality service. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, allowing up to two days of remote work, provided the candidate meets requirements such as installing a multifactor authentication app and having high-speed home internet access. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and one year of paraprofessional experience in case management involving gathering, reviewing and verifying case-related information which shall have included one or more of the following: conducting investigations, monitoring casework flow, interviewing clients or customers for needed information, preparing investigative fact-finding reports and/or writing case notes or other case-related correspondence.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze incoming documents submitted in hard copy and electronically, identifying and resolving deficiencies and monitoring statuses.
  • Provide administrative support to the Boards and the Certification Committees.
  • Review and provide guidance on submissions and inquiries related to attorney certification and continuing legal education, and annual attorney registration.
  • Process and monitor the flow of approved attorney certification and recertification applications, and CLE provider applications (case processing), analyzing filings/documents presented and determining and resolving deficiencies, making preliminary recommendations to legal staff regarding sufficiency of application in accordance with Board Regulations and Court rules.
  • Respond to and resolve email and telephone inquiries from attorneys, judges, CLE providers, and other stakeholders, identifying issues, explaining/advising regarding Court rules, Board regulations, policies and procedures for CLE, BAC, attorney registration, and attorney compliance, and other judiciary policies and procedures.
  • Assist in drafting appropriate notices and Court Orders.
  • Assist with CLE compliance and audits.
  • Prepare statistical, financial, and narrative reports for use by management, the Boards and Certification Committees, and the Court.
  • Perform related duties, as required.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $54,434.49 to $89,181.84 for Schedule A, and $54,434.49 to $84,722.75 for Schedule B.
