About The Position

The Middle District of Florida is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Case Administrator to support the Court’s mission of providing fair and impartial justice to all. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills; a commitment to excellence; resilience; and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in the Tampa Division.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible legal administrative work experience, requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures involving the routine use of specialized terminology, keyboard skills, and demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws.
  • Fast-paced position requires incumbent to present a professional demeanor at all times, be extremely detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CM/ECF experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat helpful

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and processing filings to ensure compliance with applicable rules and court requirements
  • Verifying attorney eligibility to practice before the Court
  • Maintaining the integrity of case files by monitoring proper access to records
  • Docketing summary entries of documents and proceedings in the Court’s electronic filing system
  • Performing quality control to ensure image accuracy and proper document linkage
  • Promptly notifying chambers and Clerk’s Office staff of emergency filings
  • Preparing and distributing notices, judgments, and orders to appropriate parties
  • Responding to inquiries from judges, chambers staff, attorneys, and the public both in person and by telephone
  • Opening and closing civil and criminal cases
  • Performing finance duties
  • Processing mail
  • Assisting with intake operations
  • Archive/records management
