About The Position

Capital Logistics, LLC is a non-asset based third-party logistics (3PL) firm founded in 2009 with a goal to provide the best customer service in the industry. The Carrier Sales Representative develops, maintains, and grows relationships between transportation providers (carriers) and Capital Logistics. This position prospects carriers through phone calls and onboards quality carriers to ensure Capital Logistics can execute according to our customers' shipping requirements. The Carrier Sales Representative is exposed to sales, operations, and tracking all while working on a growing team. This position receives extensive training to quickly become comfortable with the technology used, the transportation industry, and how to build and operate carrier portfolios.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of Carrier Sales experience at a 3PL
  • Full Truck Load, Reefer and Dry Van experience only
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to always interact with coworkers and Carriers in a professional manner.
  • Team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new carriers through lead generation, research, and cold calling
  • Build and utilize recurring capacity with carriers that is a match for Capital’s book of business
  • Know about all lanes that your carriers run to ensure successful service of future business
  • Build strong relationships with trucking company key contacts including dispatchers and drivers
  • Ensure all loads assigned to you are covered daily, weekly and monthly
  • Achieve monthly goals set forth by management via KPI metrics
  • Leverage technology and data to make informed decisions and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate cross functionally with customer operations, account management, and customer sales
  • Understand volatility in pricing markets, seasonal trends, disruptions, etc
  • Be a self starter and take initiative when there is work to be done
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively when operational issue arise
