About The Position

The Liberty Company is seeking an experienced Carrier Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a fully remote role. The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers was established in 1987. This position is responsible for coordinating transactional carrier-related operations for the department. Primary duties include maintaining carrier downloads, managing carrier logins/passwords, managing carrier codes, troubleshooting management system issues, pulling and distributing reports, and other operational duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in customer service or underwriting role at insurance agency.
  • Experience with Applied Epic, Vertafore AMS or similar systems.
  • Experience defining and documenting procedures and workflows.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions.
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures.
  • Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with co-workers, clients, vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Review and become familiar with current workflows and prioritize accordingly.
  • Compile any documented policies and procedures (from manuals, memos, Intranet postings, etc.) into single cohesive set of operational guidelines.
  • Assist with setup of new appointments including completion of any paperwork required by the carrier.
  • Assist in carrier book transfers for newly acquired books.
  • Assist with carrier book transfers for existing book to new carrier.
  • Coordinate with Operations department to maintain and update Admin Carrier Spreadsheet & database with agency codes and admin logins.
  • Update new/existing appointments. For example: Adding/Removing DBAs, Changing entity type from Corp to LLC.
  • Create Agency Data Sheet for new partnerships.
  • Provide and maintain accurate Carrier Appointment and Partnership data in appropriate databases.
  • Assist in carrier book transfers for newly acquired partnerships (creating BOR letters, etc).
  • Communicate with carriers regarding new partnership and provide requested documents (ex. BORs, Bill of Sale, W9, etc).
  • Collaborate with different departments within Liberty Company (Accounting, Operations, Integrations etc). regarding carrier related processes for new partnerships and new producer on-boarding.
  • Attach corresponding documents and necessary emails and responses in document management system (ImageRight).
  • Send weekly or biweekly follow-ups as needed.
  • Participate in bi-weekly department meetings to provide updates on any partner/carrier issues, etc.
