About The Position
The Manager of Carrier Development is responsible for the life cycle of a carrier. Including, but not limited to vetting and onboarding, rate negotiation, contracting and awarding, and performance review. The Manager of Carrier Development reports to the SR. Director of Carrier Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, transportation, or related experience
- Critical Thinking Skills
- Effective Multi-tasking
- 5 years of progressive transportation/logistics experience (Bulk preferred)
- Effective verbal and written communication & organizational skills
- Self Motivated
Nice To Haves
- Rate negotiation preferred
Responsibilities
- Identifies and recommends optimum hiring of carriers.
- Negotiate rates to meet business needs.
- Engage in carrier outreach to identify and build new carrier relationships.
- Works with internal stakeholders to build carrier capacity.
- Overall accountability for the compliance of all carriers to KAGL’s standards.
- Manage carrier resources; monitor carrier performance
- Maintain & perform carrier audits of rates and performance.
- Coach, mentor, and develop talent within the group
