About The Position
The Carpentry Helper position is great for someone looking to build foundational skills in residential construction. You'll be part of our mission: Building Communities, Empowering Families, while developing your trade skills alongside experienced professionals. This on-the-job training opportunity provides you with training in residential construction, framing, siding, insulation, trim, flooring, and finishes. With 70% of each home we build completed by dedicated volunteers, this role is perfect for someone willing to learn and teach. Requirements
- Recent graduate of a trade school or passionate about hands-on work.
- Willingness to learn.
- Willingness to teach.
- Understanding of basic carpentry tools.
- Vehicle and valid driver's license required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses, and color determination vision.
- Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding up to 6 feet high.
- Ability to grasp, reach, stoop, speak, listen and distinguish differences in odors.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 75 lbs.
