About The Position

Regions Hospital is looking for a Carpenter to join their team. This role involves performing carpentry work including maintenance, repair, and alteration of structures and articles of work or similar material. The Carpenter will also be responsible for repairing and replacing various building components such as casings, moldings, trim, wood paneling, hinges, locks, door closures, catches, and other building hardware. Additionally, the role includes repairing and replacing carpeting, floor tile, ceramic wall/floor tile, and ceiling tile, as well as repairing, fitting, and hanging doors and windows, and setting jambs and doorframes. The Carpenter will also install and repair wall protection, office furniture like cabinets, bookshelves, and partitions, and various types of locks. Maintaining shop supplies and materials, and repairing and maintaining building exteriors are also key responsibilities. The position also includes other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance or Immediate Supervisors.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and understand building blueprints.
  • Ability to complete mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of water, natural gas, medical gases, and all sewer systems.
  • Knowledge of building and plumbing codes affecting the hospital complex.
  • Ability to install and repair a variety of hospital plumbing systems.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools such as pipe machines, sewer cable machines, hole saws, Hilti drills, Hilti anchor guns, concrete and core drills, hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, pliers, cutters, and soldering equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five years of performing carpentry-related duties in a construction environment.
  • Must possess a valid Minnesota State Driver’s License.
  • Must Pass Minnesota DOT examination.
  • Must comply with all Minnesota Department of Transportation driving laws.
  • No Moving violations for the past two years with a good driving record as verified by the Department of Motor Vehicles report.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years apprenticeship as a carpenter.
  • Hardware, millwork, and locksmith experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, repair and alteration of structures and articles of work or similar material.
