About The Position

Holder Construction is seeking a Carpenter to join their Operations team for a project in Gainesville, VA. This is a full-time position. The role involves constructing and maintaining safety features, as well as performing various carpentry tasks. Experience with concrete is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be able to read basic drawings, possess construction safety training, and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Physical requirements include agility, the ability to stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders, work on uneven surfaces and heights, and lift heavy materials. The position requires punctuality and the ability to work in various conditions, including outdoors and potentially overtime/weekends.

Requirements

Possess 5 years of construction experience.
Must be able to read basic drawings.
Have training on construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor)).
Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time.

Experience working with Concrete is a HUGE plus.
Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
Must be able to work outside.
Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
Punctuality and promptness are required every day.

Responsibilities

Constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection.
Sawing, stripping, nailing, measuring, drilling, and other duties assigned by supervisor.
