About The Position

The Carpenter is responsible for all carpentry tasks and assists the construction and facilities services staff with all aspects of constructing and remodeling. This role involves working on projects such as hanging pictures, signage, cabinets, and hand sanitizers. The hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required, as is the ability to read floor plans and blueprints.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Be able to read floor plans and blue prints.
Familiar with all tools associated with the trade.
Capable of working from blueprints and sketches.
Capable of accurate written and oral communication involving procedures, situations, and equipment.
Thorough knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of codes, cost estimates, and ability to interpret specifications helpful.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Trade or Vocational School preferred.

Responsibilities

Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures.
Assists with flooring, ceiling installation and systems, cabinets and millwork, wall protection, doors and hardware, wall covering removal, wall and floor expansion joints, marker boards, tack boards, modular furniture, clocks, and interior signage.
May also install cabinets, siding, drywall and batt or roll insulation.
Takes extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically, keeps tools out of reach of children.
Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
