About The Position

As a Carpenter at Ascent Aviation Services, you’ll work alongside a skilled and dedicated team to help construct, repair, and maintain the essential woodwork, fixtures, and infrastructure that keep our facilities running efficiently and safely. You’ll apply your craftsmanship to a wide variety of tasks, from building and repairing shipping crates and aircraft cradles to installing partitions, doors, flooring, and cabinetry, all while ensuring a clean, safe, and organized workspace. This position is vital in supporting the expansion of our operations, including the launch of our 777 program and new hangar facilities. Requirements

  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of principles of carpentry.
  • Attention to detail and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language and the ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to position.
  • Ability to safely drive and operate a manual shift automotive vehicle and other applicable equipment.
  • Ability to work with and without supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years’ experience in all phases of carpentry highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment working from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions.
  • Builds, repairs, and installs shipping crates, cradles, shoring, counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, and building framework and using trim using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
  • Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions.
  • Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings.
  • Performs cement work.
  • Maintains log of materials used and hours worked.
  • Maintains and repairs tools.
  • Ensures that shop area is clean and free from hazards, and that all work performed is done in a safe manner, including directing activities in a manner that protects employee from harm.
