About The Position

Metromont LLC, a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century, is seeking a Carpenter to join their dynamic team. They are a trusted partner, collaborating with customers from project design through completion, and offering complementary services such as design, engineering, hauling, erection, and field services. Metromont serves a wide range of projects including parking structures, data centers, multifamily housing, office buildings, warehouses, schools, and stadiums across the eastern seaboard, the southeast, and as far west as Arizona.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16.
  • Must be able to understand drawn formwork.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to work on a team.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
  • Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Bending.
  • Repetitive motion with medium force.
  • Ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous carpentry experience preferred.
  • Experience with bench saws, table saws, miter saws, nail and staple guns, drill presses, sharps, drills, power tools, planers, and routers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Construct wooden forms, frames, bulk heads, and block outs for concrete casting beds.
  • Review plans and blueprints for daily woodwork.
  • Create and assemble side rails, forms, bulk heads, and block outs for production beds.
  • Assist fiber glass laminator, mold builder, and CNC operation when necessary.
  • Build a wide range of wood forms and understand building techniques.
  • Fabricate block outs and new window openings.
  • Construct architectural molds.
  • Determine design and drawing conflicts.
  • Keep tools oiled and in good condition.
  • Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
