About The Position

Rio Tinto is seeking a Carpenter to construct, install, maintain, and repair various structures using wood, metal, light steel, or other materials. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and advancement within a world-class organization. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will work a 4-day work week (10 hours per day) with 3 days off. Your responsibilities will include reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and sketches to understand job specifications, preparing layouts using measuring tools, measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials, adjusting and fitting carpentry components, building scaffolding and temporary platforms, and securing access for safe work. You will also perform building maintenance as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (DES) or equivalent.
  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in carpentry-menuiserie from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated organization, manual dexterity, and a high degree of autonomy in work execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in industrial painting and ability to use an industrial gun or electrostatic spray gun.
  • Valid CCQ (Carpenters-Joiners) competency card.

Responsibilities
