Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Carpenter is responsible for completing repairs/alterations to building structures; for example, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, millwork, abatement, flooring, wall cladding/paneling, Gyproc, etc., while adhering to building, fire, infection prevention and control codes and regulations. The incumbent is also responsible for small in-house renovations and additions, including Infection Prevention and Control hoarding, as required. This work must be done in accordance with all provincial, building, fire, and infection prevention and control codes and regulations; all pertinent hospital policies and procedures must also be adhered to.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate Required
  • Two years’ experience with a broad exposure within the construction industry in a similar organization
  • Must Adhere to Provincial and National Construction Building Codes, Dept. Of Labour standards.
  • Valid Drivers License or access to reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Completing repairs/alterations to building structures (e.g., walls, ceilings, doors, windows, millwork, abatement, flooring, wall cladding/paneling, Gyproc).
  • Adhering to building, fire, infection prevention and control codes and regulations.
  • Performing small in-house renovations and additions.
  • Implementing Infection Prevention and Control hoarding as required.
  • Ensuring all work is done in accordance with provincial, building, fire, and infection prevention and control codes and regulations.
  • Adhering to all pertinent hospital policies and procedures.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $31.55 - $37.31 Hourly
