About The Position

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing wooden forms, frames, bulk heads, and block outs for the concrete casting beds. This role involves reviewing plans, creating and assembling various wooden structures, and assisting other departments as needed. The Carpenter must be able to build a wide range of wood forms, understand building techniques, and fabricate block outs and new window openings. They will also construct architectural molds and identify design or drawing conflicts. Maintaining tools and adhering to safety regulations are crucial aspects of this position.

Requirements

Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16
Must be able to understand drawn formwork.
Must be able to read blueprints
Must be able to work on a team
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes
Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Previous carpentry experience preferred
Experience with bench saws, table saws, miter saws, nail and staple guns, drill presses, sharps, drills, power tools, planers, and routers preferred

Responsibilities

Review plans and blueprints for daily woodwork.
Create and assemble side rails, forms, bulk heads, and block outs for production beds.
Assist fiber glass laminator, mold builder, and CNC operation when necessary.
Build a wide range of wood forms and understand building techniques.
Fabricate block outs and new window openings.
Construct architectural molds.
Determine design and drawing conflicts.
Keep tools oiled and in good condition.
Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
