About The Position

This is a part-time position assisting full-time carpenters with various building maintenance projects. The role also involves serving as the on-duty carpenter during evening concerts and events, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and maintaining storage areas and the carpentry shop. The position requires identifying equipment needing maintenance and assisting in repair plans, operating a forklift, and overseeing casual labor. The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Forklift certification
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees and others
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Assist full-time carpenters with building maintenance projects including painting, patching, plumbing, carpentry, and furniture moving.
  • Serve as on-duty carpenter during evening concerts and events.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of all events, including moving and stacking tables and chairs.
  • Keep all storage areas and the carpentry shop clean and orderly.
  • Participate in building walks with Sr. Operations Manager and Maintenance Foreman to identify and prioritize maintenance projects.
  • Identify equipment that needs to be maintained and assist in developing a plan for repairs and upkeep.
  • Operate a forklift for show load in/out upon request.
  • Oversee casual labor when hired to work in the theatre.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
