About The Position

Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities. Job Summary: The Carpenter, Doors is based at the Mt. Airy, NC manufacturing plant, with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for constructing, assembling, and ensuring the quality of wooden structures through precise measurement, cutting, and assembly techniques, while adhering to safety and production standards and meeting customer specifications. This position reports directly to the Manager, Plant (or Supervisor, Plant) and does not have direct reports.

Requirements

Must be able to PASS Drug screen
Common knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to work well as a team.
Ability to paint.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets work orders, specifications, and blueprints to understand project requirements.
Aligns and fits hardware such as locks, handles, and hinges.
Ensures measurements are accurate for the fitting of the window or door.
Uses hand and power tools to cut and shape the framework for windows and doors.
Caulks and seals windows and doors to prevent water and air leaks.
Inspects and adjusts newly installed doors and windows to ensure they operate properly.
Wears appropriate protective gear and ensures safety procedures are followed.
Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a clean workspace.
Assists in other duties within the carpentry manufacturing plant, including the following: Erector/Siding. Electrical. Flooring. Framing. Painting/Trim Press/Rafting Ramps/Accessories. Roofing. Small Structures. Trusses. Vinyl.
