About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled Painter and Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role will involve a combination of painting, wall and ceiling repairs, patching, and providing assistance to our carpenters as needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.

Requirements

Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
1-2 years' experience in painting and surface preparation
Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use personal and agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office
Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
Ability to perform minor repairs and patching on walls and ceilings.
Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as necessary.
Apply paint or other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
Perform minor repairs and patching on walls and ceilings, including filling holes, cracks, gaps and replacing ceiling tiles.
Use appropriate materials and techniques to achieve seamless repairs and a smooth finish.
Assist in the preparation of surfaces for carpentry work, including removing old paint, wallpaper, or debris, and repairing damaged areas to create a clean and suitable substrate for carpentry installations.
Collaborate with carpenters to support them in various tasks such as lifting and moving materials, assembling structures, and installing fixtures.
Provide assistance as needed to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing painting and maintenance tasks, including proper handling and disposal of materials, use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Maintain and clean painting equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Use facilities work order system to track and update status of open work orders and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to provide updates on project status and any issues encountered.
