About The Position

Community Access Unlimited is expanding our facilities department and we're on the lookout for dedicated Full-Time Carpentry/Maintenance Workers to help us maintain safe, functional, and welcoming spaces for our programs across Union County, NJ. Responsibilities Include: Performing light general maintenance and repairs: painting, electrical, plumbing, tile, and flooring Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials Prepping and painting interiors/exteriors as needed Perform framing and trim Safely operating commercial-grade tools Repairing or replacing electrical fixtures, paneling, and floor tiles Keeping facilities and equipment clean, sanitary, and safe Finishing/repairing existing structures as well as installing windows and doors Providing maintenance support for equipment and machinery Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and events as required Adhering to building codes and maintaining a safe work environment

Requirements

  • 5+ years of carpentry experience
  • Proven skills in general maintenance
  • Familiar with painting tools and materials
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – professional communication with staff, vendors, and clients
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for work-related travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and car for work purposes.
