About The Position

Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in yards and on industrial and commercial properties. Works with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall, using tools to repair and erect structures. The role also involves estimating sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for work activities, and inspecting subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications. The position is performed in a construction environment, including changing outdoor weather conditions, and may require irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to carry out work activities.
• Pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Have the required tools.
• Be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, if required.

• Use chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed to perform work activities.
• Inspect subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action as needed.
• Follow plans, instructions, specifications, safety rules, and project rules; perform other duties as required.
