The Carpenter Helper position is responsible for assisting skilled workers in performing their assigned duties and performing a variety of other tasks. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with assigned duties performed according to specific procedures and frequent checks. People are at the heart of everything we do, with a strong focus on safety, security, and satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent.
• Able to focus on task at hand without being distracted.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months of experience in specified skill.

Responsibilities

• Assisting skilled workers in performing their assigned duties.
• Performing a large variety of duties.
• Digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel.
• Touching up paint.
• Pouring and spreading concrete, asphalt, gravel, or other materials.
• Handling building materials.
• Fixing flats and changing out tires on trailers and mobile equipment.
• Lifting and carrying materials such as pipe and fittings throughout the facility.
• Helping with tools and equipment such as welding machine setup, rigging for the crane, tightening headstock, etc.
• Operating a crane if certified.
• Transferring from task to task as the project progresses.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
• Reading and signing off on JSA prior to starting shift.
