About The Position
Austin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. An industry leader for more than 60 years, we offer single-source solutions to our customers in the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries. The Craft Helper will assist Craft Journeyman in the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. They will also assist in the diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and assist in correcting the problem.
Requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
- Valid Driver’s License and TWIC Card
- 1 - 2 years of Helper level experience.
Responsibilities
- Gathers tools and supplies to be used at the work site according to the instructions.
- Measures, cuts and bends wire and conduit, using a ruler and hand tools.
- Drills holes for wiring, using power drill and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.
- Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
- Assists in lifting, positioning or fastening objects.
- Performs minor repairs.
- May disassemble defective equipment, replace worn or defective parts and reassemble equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
