About The Position

A Team Home Services is seeking an experienced Carpenter & Handyman Installer to complete residential carpentry, handyman, repair, and remodeling projects throughout the Greater Austin area. This is a hands-on, production-focused role completing projects that have already been sold and scoped. We’re looking for a versatile craftsman with strong residential construction experience who can work independently, follow project plans, and consistently deliver high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of residential carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, or handyman experience
  • Strong interior and exterior carpentry skills, including finish carpentry, repairs, and installations
  • Experience with drywall repair, painting, and other residential repair and finish work
  • Experience with demolition, framing, and remodeling work
  • Strong knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials to within 1/16 inch
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic measurements/math
  • Ability to read and follow project scopes, plans, and specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical solutions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with project leads and other trades
  • Comfortable working inside occupied residential homes
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and maintain project timelines
  • Open availability Monday–Friday from 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, with the flexibility to stay through completion of the day’s scheduled work
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to lift at least 55 pounds and follow company safety procedures
  • Ability to document work performed and communicate project progress, material needs, or jobsite issues

Responsibilities

  • Complete residential carpentry, handyman, repair, and remodeling projects
  • Perform hands-on installation work for kitchen and bathroom remodels
  • Install doors, trim, baseboards, hardware, shelving, cabinetry, vanities, countertops, fixtures, and other residential components
  • Build, repair, and install fences, decks, patios, outdoor living spaces, and other exterior carpentry and home improvement projects
  • Complete demolition, framing adjustments, structural repairs, and finish carpentry
  • Perform drywall repairs including patching, tape and float work, and texture matching
  • Complete interior and exterior painting, touch-ups, caulking, and finish work
  • Accurately measure, cut, and install materials with precision
  • Follow project plans, scopes of work, specifications, and company quality standards
  • Coordinate with project leads and other trades to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, and jobsite issues to supervisors
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
