About The Position

The Construction Carpenter/Foreman will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials to assist with various construction projects. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate measurement and cutting of materials, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The position involves creating wooden forms, erecting scaffolding, installing windows and doors, and ensuring compliance with local building and safety codes.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to travel as needed (typically less than 10% of the time)
  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to hold a Med Card
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Clean driving record

  • Experience preferred but willing to train the right individual

Responsibilities

  • Keep building and/or assigned areas of jobsite clean and organized to maintain a safe and productive working environment.
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman/General Superintendent, Safety Director, or HR manager.
  • Measure, mark, and arrange materials to establish layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Use various hand and power tools to build assigned projects securely.
  • Join materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; correct problems as needed.
  • Create wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
  • Install windows and doors.
  • Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
