About The Position

Industrial Journeyman Carpenter will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and/or concrete forms. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans, meet all physical requirements, and possess carpentry experience within an industrial plant setting. Adherence to all safety rules and regulations is mandatory, along with having all required tools and reliable transportation.

Requirements

  • Must have 3+ years working as a carpenter or civil journeyman in an industrial plant.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
  • Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification.
  • Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
  • Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
  • Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to work over 8 – 10 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
  • Formal/Technical education.
  • Experience working with concrete and rebar.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
  • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
  • Build and construct wooden forms.
  • Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
  • Clean up/housekeeping of work areas.
  • Assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties.
