About The Position

The Loadmaster is responsible for monitoring/overseeing the loading, secure transport, and unloading of aircraft cargo. This requires extensive coordination to properly calculate and plan weight and balance distribution of cargo within an aircraft. They are responsible completing daily duties involving safe and efficient aircraft loading and unloading.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
High School graduate or GED.
Must be able to read flight plan activity.
Must have knowledge of fundamental flight operations services and procedures for handling cargo flights.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain airport badge with US Customs clearance.
Must be willing to work occasionally in inclement weather.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
Flight crew and customer relationship skills a must.
Must prepare appropriate documentation for flight handling.
Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
Be well groomed and follow uniform policy.
Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

Previous CAT 10 Dangerous goods training.
Previous Airline Experience with Flight operations duties and Weight and Balance functions.
Prior experience with Korean Air Cargo Systems and Procedures.

Responsibilities

Oversees and monitors loading and unloading of aircraft.
Provides leadership as aircraft is being loaded and/or unloaded in a safe and efficient manner.
Verifies the flight crew has easy access from cockpit to the rear of aircraft following the completion of the load.
Ensures that the load is properly secured.
Communicates with multiple department personnel regarding aircraft readiness and positions.
Provides timely updates to customer and management.
Monitors movements of Customer aircraft to ensure timely and correct arrival.
Accuracy when working with numbers a must.
Always maintain safety and security of aircraft.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
