Caretaker
About The Position
Under direct supervision of the Building Services Unit Administrator, the Caretaker will perform duties including driving department vehicles to General Services leased sites, picking up materials and supplies, assisting in small building service repairs, providing emergency coverage in the event of power or water shutdowns, assisting with managing the building service email address, surveying leased sites for repairs and overseeing contract repairs, supporting the Building Services Technical Electrician with minor maintenance and janitorial repairs, conducting Crack Unit surveys across multiple leased locations, verifying emergency calls and coordinating repairs with Building Services management, conducting building inspections, handling snow emergencies, and performing conference room set-ups and take-downs, including for NYCHA Events.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to drive with manual transmission.
- No formal education requirements.
- No formal experience requirements.
