About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides in Summit County, Ohio. This role involves providing in-home care to clients, primarily older adults, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, and errands. Companionship is also a key aspect of the job. This is a physical role requiring caregivers to be on their feet most of the day and assist clients with mobility. Caregivers do not administer medication or perform medical tasks, as those are reserved for nurses. The company offers multiple pathways to qualify for the position, including training for those with no prior experience. Clients are matched based on caregiver-defined limits regarding pets, smoking, travel distance, and availability. Caregivers typically work with 2-4 regular clients per week, with opportunities to pick up additional fill-in shifts. Requirements

  • Driver's license
  • Own car with insurance that covers work driving
  • Pass background checks
  • Work at least 20 hours/week
  • Available between 6AM-8PM (most work is 8AM-5PM)
  • Legal right to work in the US
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • STNA license in Ohio — active or expired (for Path 1)
  • HHA certificate, 30+ hours, signed by RN (unless completed online) (for Path 2)
  • 1+ year of experience at one company where your supervisor was an RN or LPN (for Path 3)
  • Willingness to help people (for Path 4)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience under a Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN) is required for Path 3, and this experience must be verified by the former employer.
  • Previous HHA test passed with 80% or higher (may skip the HHA test).

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Perform light cleaning and run errands for clients.
  • Provide companionship to clients.
  • Assist clients with mobility.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Report incidents within 24 hours.
  • Get feedback from clients.
  • Answer office calls and texts quickly.
  • Send updated documents when requested (insurance, license, training).
  • Complete feedback forms when sent.
