About The Position

REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Caregiver at REM West Virginia, you will engage in rewarding work helping people grow, learn, and live well, developing meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve. You will experience ownership and trust from your leaders to do what’s right for participants. The role involves taking the initiative to help participants be part of the community and enjoy their favorite activities, as well as supporting them with developmental goals like budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition. Caregivers will assist individuals with a variety of needs, including autism and similar conditions, providing support with personal hygiene and managing behavioral challenges and other complex needs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance (in some positions)
  • Ability to stay calm and problem solve in stressful situations

  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination

Responsibilities

  • Help people grow, learn, and live well
