About The Position

The Residence at Quarry Hill is hiring Caregivers. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, in a manner that upholds dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. The essential duties include delivering services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan, promoting the mission and values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living, and actively participating in growing community occupancy by representing the community positively to potential residents and their families. Associates are expected to complete orientation and training programs, assist residents with medications as per state regulations and company policies, and make appropriate notifications to the nurse. The role requires actively engaging residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance and encouragement for residents to be as independent as possible in their activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility), and taking initiative in group and individual engagement. Monitoring for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and reporting/documenting these changes promptly to the RN or designee is crucial. Responsibilities also include assisting residents with clothing and laundry, assisting residents with bedtime routines, helping residents maintain neat and orderly units, promptly answering emergency calls, participating in ongoing in-service training programs and specialized staff training as required, escorting residents to meals and engagement activities, and documenting all services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and refusals of services, using the community computer tracking system. The role also involves conducting and facilitating programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection, along with other requested duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Complete community and State orientation training programs.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and appropriate notifications to the nurse.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document changes to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity and spiritual connection.
