About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Caregiver for the NOC shift at Maravilla Santa Barbara. This role involves providing essential assistance to residents with their daily living activities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment, and supporting their overall well-being. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • First Aid Certification is required, or to be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to push and pull objects, lift and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted).
  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, assisting in feeding, and dressing residents, writing notations, operating vacuum cleaners, light housekeeping in resident rooms and bathrooms, etc.).
  • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality with resident and family information.
  • Basic reading and writing skills and ability to speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience is required.
  • Prefer a candidate who has worked with residents who have dementia.
  • Proven track record of being reliable.
  • Must have a schedule that ensures caregiver is able to remain alert, awake, and responsible during the overnight hours.
  • CNA or experience as caregiver.
  • First Aid / CPR certified.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly preferred.
  • Good physical and mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident assistance with activities of daily living, encouraging and promoting residents’ self-care to the extent possible.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable setting for residents.
  • Perform daily housekeeping and laundering tasks for residents.
  • Set up for meals and clean up after.
  • Customize supportive services tailored to the specific needs and preferences of residents and their families.
  • Deliver services and monitor resident needs according to the resident’s service plan, including personal care, monitoring health needs, and assisting residents with medications (as delegated by the LPN/LVN) per state regulations.
  • Conduct or assist residents in programming activities.
  • Ensure high quality of resident care and recommend ways to improve quality.
  • Participate in in-service education and team meetings.
  • Maintain a positive working environment and encourage teamwork.
  • Ensure that residents’ ancillary supplies are properly charged to the residents.
  • Complete end-of-shift reports.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty.
  • Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly.
  • Assist residents in their daily living activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, etc.).
  • Transfer and escort residents as necessary, assisting them into and out of bed and wheelchairs.
