McKenney Home Care is a family-owned, private-duty home care agency serving Lee and Collier County. We are seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers who take pride in their work and are committed to providing attentive, high-quality care. Many of our caregivers prefer private-duty care because it allows for stronger client relationships and a more personalized approach to caregiving. Flexible Scheduling We offer a variety of shift options to fit your availability, examples include: Morning shifts: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM Short or split shifts: 2–3 hours (AM or PM) Standard shifts: 4–6 hours Extended shifts: 7–12 hours (day or overnight) 12-hour day and overnight shifts are widely available Private duty schedules vary based on client needs, with opportunities for consistent, ongoing cases.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Second form of ID (Social Security card or passport)
  • Hands-on CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • TB test (PPD or lab within 6 months) or chest X-ray within 5 years (or willingness to obtain)
  • Level 2 AHCA background screening (or willingness to complete)
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and consistent reliability and attendance

Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, personalized care in a one-on-one setting
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients through companionship and support
  • Assist with daily routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility
  • Prepare meals and support proper nutrition and hydration
  • Provide support for clients with memory care needs, including dementia
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
  • Provide medication reminders (no administration required)
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition to the office
  • Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate proactively with the care team regarding client needs or schedule updates
