About The Position

The Caregiver plays an essential role in supporting clients’ safety, independence, and well-being in their homes. Caregivers provide hands-on personal care, companionship, and specialized support tailored to each client’s unique needs. They uphold Serving Spirit’s high standards of compassion, professionalism, and reliability while acting as trusted partners to clients and their families. This role is ideal for someone who is caring, patient, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional service every day.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Caregiver, DSP, HHA, and/or CNA.
  • Experience providing personal care, companion care, and meal preparation (home care, hospital, assisted living, or similar).
  • Ability to assist with ADLs, including mobility support and incontinence care.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering exceptional care.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a care team.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to clients’ homes.
  • Must meet all state and agency compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or cognitive-impairment care strongly preferred.
  • Certification such as HHA, PCA, CNA, or similar is a plus.
  • Experience providing spiritual care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide incontinence care and ensure clients’ comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Offer meaningful companionship, emotional support, and conversation.
  • Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, organization, and daily routines to support clients’ independence.
  • Provide medication reminders in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Deliver compassionate care for clients with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other cognitive impairments.
  • Implement care strategies based on individual needs, preferences, and care plans.
  • Offer spiritual support to clients when appropriate, enhancing emotional and holistic well-being.
  • Communicate regularly with the Client Care Management and Scheduling teams regarding client changes, needs, or concerns.
  • Accurately document care activities and maintain compliance with agency standards and state regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development to maintain excellence in care delivery.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction.
  • Uphold Serving Spirit’s mission by exceeding client expectations for safety, respect, and compassion.
  • Act as a trusted, supportive presence for clients and families.
