In partnership with the health services team, the Caregiver is responsible for assisting the resident in all areas of care as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living, or designee. This role adheres to and conveys the SRG philosophy of person-centered care and Genuine Hospitality. The Caregiver maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty, including wearing a name tag and uniform, and adhering to the SRG cell phone policy. They are expected to report to work on time and as scheduled, receive reports from the previous shift, and document care given via CareStream according to policies and procedures. The Caregiver provides report to the oncoming shift and completes necessary documentation before going off shift, including incident reports when needed. They are responsible for answering resident call lights, doors, and alarms promptly, and providing assistance with activities of daily living, encouraging self-care. The role also involves assisting residents with meals, housekeeping, and laundry services, and maintaining a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment. The Caregiver observes for changes in resident status, communicates these to the appropriate personnel, and responds promptly to emergencies. They must demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control policies and procedures, as well as fire, missing resident, and other emergency procedures. Maintaining confidentiality of resident and family information and participating in training and team meetings are also key responsibilities. Other duties as assigned may be part of the role.
