About The Position

This PRN position offers a flexible work schedule, allowing you to work the hours and days that best suit your needs while making a significant difference in someone else's life. The caregiver provides in-home care to individuals who have difficulty performing basic day-to-day activities by assisting with personal care, administering medication, and providing companionship. The role involves planning and following daily care schedules, modifying care plans as prescribed by medical professionals, and reporting any new conditions or needs that may arise. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care (bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating), following healthcare plans (exercise, medication administration), organizing the client's home for safety and needs, completing light housework, providing emotional support, assisting with mobility, and transporting clients to appointments. The caregiver must be patient, empathetic, observant, and committed to client comfort.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • When applicable, valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and validation of insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and follows a daily care schedule with clients.
  • Modifies care plans as prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Reports on any new conditions or needs that may arise.
  • Assists with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Follows a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
  • Ensures the clients' home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place.
  • May be expected to complete some light housework.
  • Provides emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
  • Provides mobility assistance if required, for example helping the client in and out of a bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
  • Transports or escorts the client to medical and other appointments.
  • Monitors and reports changes in health, behavior, and needs.
