About The Position

Village Caregiving is seeking responsible, dedicated, in-home caregivers to assist Veterans and the elderly with activities of daily living (ADLs). There is an immediate need for caregivers in and around the Larchwood, IA area. The company offers flexible schedules and a supportive, family-like atmosphere, along with competitive pay and daily pay options. The role involves providing support to the elderly through assistance with ADLs, including grooming, light housekeeping, running errands, and meal preparation. Requirements

Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
Physical endurance to complete required tasks
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Previous caregiver experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Provide support to the elderly through assistance in ADL- These tasks include: grooming, light housekeeping, running errands and meal preparation
