About The Position
Looking for an experienced part-time Caregiver that is interested in providing in-home care for a senior veteran with dementia, located in Lombard. The Caregiver is not only expected to be reliable, dependable and honest, but also compassionate and caring. The hours of care are 11 hours per week, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, and Fridays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Requirements
- Must have Gait Belt experience
- Ability to interpret the client’s provided plan of care
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
- Must be able to be reached via phone or email for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
- Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Non-smoker
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care
Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, and feeding
- Assist with transfers using a gait belt
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Performing both heavy, and light housekeeping tasks
- Laying out clothes and assisting with dressing
- Planning and preparing meals
- Providing medication reminders
