About The Position

Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek is looking for compassionate caregivers to join their team. This role provides hands-on, person-centered support to residents with their daily activities, helping them live each day with dignity, comfort, and joy. The caregiver will work closely with nursing and Life Enrichment teams to ensure residents feel safe, cared for, and truly known. Iris Memory Care is a freestanding memory care assisted living community with 42 residents, located off I35E near Oaklawn Avenue in the Turtle Creek area of downtown Dallas. It is an age-in-place community where all residents live with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia.

Requirements

No certification required, although prior experience is preferred
Genuine compassion for seniors and a heart for memory care
Reliable, punctual, and able to stay calm and patient in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support residents during mealtimes, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration
Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities
Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Observe and promptly report any changes in resident conditions or behavior to nursing staff
Support residents living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia with patience, empathy, and understanding
Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Document care provided according to community policy
