Caregiver Part-time
About The Position
REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position pays $17.00 per hour and is part-time, with various evening and day shifts available, including every other weekend and specific weekday hours. The role involves assisting individuals with personal hygiene, supporting those with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and helping participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care, dedicated to helping individuals live full, independent lives for over 50 years.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
- Communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork, time-management skills
- Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible behaviors
- Valid Driver's license held for at least one year (post-permit)
- Clean motor vehicle record that meets Sevita’s insurability policy
- Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
Responsibilities
- Assist people with their personal hygiene.
- Support individuals who can have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
- Help participants with developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
- Take initiative to help participants be part of the community and enjoy their favorite activities.
