About The Position

Haven Home Care is seeking dedicated caregivers to help people in their homes across 14 cities in Summit County. In this role, you will drive to clients' homes and assist them with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship. Most clients are older adults who need assistance to maintain their independence. This is a physical role requiring you to be on your feet most of the day and assist clients with mobility. The position does not involve administering medication or performing medical tasks, which are reserved for nurses.

Requirements

Driver's license
Own car with insurance that covers work driving
Pass background checks
Work at least 20 hours/week
Available between 6 AM-8 PM (most work is 8 AM-5 PM)
Legal right to work in the US
Must be at least 18 years old
STNA license (active or expired)
HHA certificate (30+ hours, signed by RN unless completed online)
1+ year of experience under a licensed nurse (RN or LPN supervisor) at one company (in settings like nursing homes, hospitals, skilled home health agencies, or assisted living with licensed nurses)
Ability to pass a competency test (written and skills demonstration, 80% required on both) unless you are an STNA or have prior HHA test results of 80% or higher
Ability to verify identity and work authorization
Ability to complete free 32-hour online HHA training within 6 days if new to the field

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities (baths, dressing)
Prepare meals for clients
Perform light cleaning in clients' homes
Run errands for clients
Provide companionship to clients
Help clients move around
Work with 2-4 regular clients weekly
Pick up extra fill-in shifts for more hours
Attend to clients needing help with morning baths and breakfast (typically 2-hour shifts)
Be reliable and show up for scheduled shifts
Follow company policies and procedures
Report incidents within 24 hours
Answer office calls and texts quickly
Send updated documents (insurance, license, training) when requested
Complete feedback forms when sent

Benefits

Pay rates vary based on qualifications: $18/hour for STNA, $16-18/hour for HHA certificate or experience, $16/hour for free training pathway.
Additional pay for referring and caring for private pay clients: $19-20/hour.
10% extra pay on holidays.
