About The Position

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being. This is a PRN / On Call position with various shifts available (Day / Evening / Night) and a wage of $19-$21/hr DOE. The location is Avamere at Englewood Heights in Yakima, WA.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Personal Hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting), Mobility Assistance (walking, transferring, using mobility aids), Meal Preparation (setting up meals, cutting food, removing trays).
• Providing Emotional Support and Companionship: Offering empathy, listening, encouragement, engaging in conversations and activities.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.
• Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy: Observing residents for health changes, reporting concerns, monitoring vital signs.
• Answering resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
• Reporting safety concerns in resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assisting with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
