About The Position

Autumn Glen Senior Living is hiring a part-time Day Shift Caregiver or CNA to provide residents with routine daily care in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with each resident’s assessment and service plan. The role works the 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. shift and pays $18.50–$22.00 per hour. The Caregiver supports residents’ daily living needs, safety, mobility, social engagement, and personal care while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect. The position follows facility policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines, and communicates changes in residents’ conditions to the appropriate supervisor or nurse. The role may also include passing medications as assigned in the service plan and directed by the nurse. Autumn Glen Senior Living serves the Coon Rapids community and offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, care suites, and respite care. Team members are expected to provide courteous, responsive, and quality service in keeping with the company’s Platinum Service® program. This role has no direct reports.

Requirements

Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
Maintain confidentiality and resident privacy.
Have knowledge of or proficiency with the facility’s EHR.
Be able to lift 50 pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring residents may involve lifting up to 75 pounds.
Be able to exert maximum muscle force to lift and carry to a height of 3 feet and push and pull to a distance of 5 feet.
Be able to use abdominal and lower-back muscles over time without fatigue.
Be able to stand for extended periods and bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach; fine motor skills are required.
Be able to execute tasks independently, express oneself clearly and effectively verbally, concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions, and meet visual acuity and hearing alertness demands.

Nice To Haves

Six months or more of experience in an assisted living or long-term care facility is preferred.
CNA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility, while maintaining dignity and respect.
Move and transfer residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts using safety, lifting, and transfer techniques.
Immediately communicate relevant information, including incident report information and observed or suspected changes in residents’ conditions, to a supervisor.
Assist residents with walking, with or without self-help devices, as instructed.
Encourage residents to socialize and participate in scheduled activities and outings, and assist with those activities as needed.
Respond promptly and courteously to resident alerts, needs, and requests for care.
Observe residents’ emotional conditions and promptly report changes to the nurse.
Promote personal safety and a safe environment by observing infection-control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse or management.
Check residents according to their service schedules to ensure personal care needs are met in accordance with their wishes.
Assist in fire and other safety drills to ensure resident safety.
Pass medications as assigned in the service plan and directed by the nurse.
Perform other essential job-related duties as assigned.
Follow applicable policies and procedures and provide courteous, responsive, quality service to residents.
