About The Position
Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers to help people in their homes across 14 cities in Summit County. The role involves assisting clients, primarily older adults, with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship. This is a physical role requiring caregivers to be on their feet most of the day and assist clients with mobility. The job does not involve administering medication or performing medical tasks, which are reserved for nurses. Reliability and commitment are crucial, as clients depend on consistent care. The role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with 2-4 regular clients per week. Haven Home Care covers 14 cities in Summit County and matches clients based on travel distance preferences. Caregivers have flexibility in setting their limits regarding travel distance, availability, and preferences like pets or smoking. The company guarantees work for those with flexible availability and prioritizes matching caregivers with clients based on their stated preferences. Initial shifts may be fill-in roles to test reliability, with permanent clients assigned quickly if a match is found. Additional hours can be obtained through extra fill-in shifts. Shift lengths vary from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on client needs. "Flexible" scheduling refers to the agreed-upon availability, not the ability to call off shifts arbitrarily. Attendance and reliability are key performance indicators for raises.
Requirements
- Driver's license
- Own car with insurance that covers work driving
- Pass background checks
- Work at least 20 hours/week
- Available between 6AM-8PM (most work is 8AM-5PM)
- Legal right to work in the US
- Must be at least 18 years old
- STNA license (active or expired)
- HHA certificate or experience
- Experience under a licensed nurse (1+ year at one company where supervisor was RN or LPN)
- Ability to pass a competency test (written and skills demonstration)
- Ability to verify identity and work authorization with original documents

Responsibilities
- Help clients with daily life activities such as baths and getting dressed.
- Prepare meals for clients.
- Perform light cleaning in clients' homes.
- Run errands for clients.

- Show up on time for shifts.
- Clock in and out using the app or phone.
- Follow call-off procedures if unable to make a shift.
- Follow company policies.
- Accept clients that match the limits provided by the caregiver.
- Report incidents within 24 hours.
- Obtain good feedback from clients.
- Maintain reliability to prevent clients from leaving Haven Home Care.
- Answer office calls and texts quickly.
- Send updated documents when requested (insurance, license, training).
- Complete feedback forms when sent.
