About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is now hiring Caregivers, Home Health Aides (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Personal Care Aides (PCA), Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and Home Care Assistants to provide high-quality, non-medical, in-home care to seniors and adults in St. John, IN and nearby communities. If you are compassionate, dependable, and enjoy helping others, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year caregiving experience preferred (Caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP, or similar role)
• CNA or HHA certification is a plus
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Ability to pass National background check
• CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain)
• Must be dependable, professional, and compassionate

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing)
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Medication reminders
• Companionship and emotional support
• Transportation and errands (if applicable)
• Support clients with mobility and transfers
