In partnership with the health services team, the Caregiver is responsible for assisting the resident in all areas of care as assigned by the Director of Assisted Living, or designee. This role adheres to and conveys the SRG philosophy of person-centered care and Genuine Hospitality, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor while on duty. The Caregiver reports to work on time and as scheduled, receives reports from the previous shift, and documents care provided via CareStream. They provide a report to the oncoming shift and complete incident reports when needed. The Caregiver is responsible for answering resident call lights, door, and alarms promptly, and providing assistance with activities of daily living, encouraging self-care to the extent possible. They also encourage and assist residents in individual and group program activities, and assist with meals, housekeeping, and laundry services as needed. Maintaining a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors is crucial. The Caregiver provides high-quality resident care, observes for changes in resident status, and communicates these to the Director of Assisted Living, LVN/LPN, and/or manager on duty. They respond promptly to emergencies, follow infection control policies, and are familiar with emergency procedures. Maintaining resident confidentiality and participating in training and team meetings are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
