Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional caregiving experience in a home care, facility, or healthcare setting.
- Proven experience delivering personal care (ADLs) and executing safe physical transfers.
- Direct experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Valid Driver’s License, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance.
- High level of patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass required background checks and complete mandatory company training modules.
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated, safe care for clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
- Utilize effective communication techniques such as active listening, patience, gentle reassurance, and verbal redirection when managing cognitive or behavioral changes.
- Promote a calm, safe, and structured environment tailored to memory care needs.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and providing feeding assistance when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, dishwashing, maintaining clean living spaces, and managing laundry.
- Encourage client independence by engaging them in physical, mental, and social activities as appropriate.
- Observe, document, and report any notable physical, cognitive, or behavioral changes in client status to the care management team.
- Adhere strictly to the established Plan of Care and safety protocols to protect clients and yourself.
