About The Position

Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek is looking for caregivers and personal care attendants. We have full-time and part-time shifts available. We are a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community in downtown Dallas, near I35E and Dallas North Tollway off of Oaklawn Avenue. We have a small campus with a total of 44 residents. As a community focused on memory care, all of our residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. We are an age-in-place community, so you will have the privilege of caring for residents all throughout the spectrum of the disease. This is a great opportunity for a candidate looking for growth opportunities! We are able to train in-house and delegate for medication passing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
  • Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
  • Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant preferred.
  • Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred.
  • Experience with dementia residents preferred.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have worked with seniors before.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned.
  • Duties include personal services, activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, life enrichment, delegated tasks (if applicable to state), meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident care and service delivery.
  • Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
  • Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
  • Puts Resident Service First: Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
  • Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
