Caregiver or CNA - Evening Shift (1-9pm) Ahwatukee, Overtime Available
About The Position
This role is for a safety-focused companionship caregiver for a senior male client living in the Ahwatukee Foothills. The client is returning home after a recent health event and is a high fall risk. He is largely independent with no cognitive decline. The primary focus is safety: staying close, staying observant, and being ready to step in. Hands-on support will be needed as appropriate, especially during the transition home, but it is not extensive. There is no housekeeping required as the family has housekeeping services. The client enjoys his private home office, so expect a good amount of downtime during shifts. The family is happy for the caregiver to read, study, or work on homework between safety checks, making this a good fit for a student. The client is sharp, accomplished, and values his independence and privacy. The right caregiver will earn his trust by being friendly and low-key, with a warm, upbeat personality who can read the room, give him space when he needs it, and stay nearby to keep him safe. Experience and confidence are important, and the family is looking for someone polished, discreet, and comfortable in a private home. Requirements
- Successful completion of a thorough criminal background check, drug screening, DMV record check, and a negative TB test prior to employment.
- Valid CPR certification.
- At least two positive references from past employment demonstrating professionalism and commitment.
- Previous caregiving experience is required (non-traditional experience may be considered with additional training).
Nice To Haves
- CNA program or Caregiving Certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to commit to a consistent schedule, with 4 to 5 days per week preferred.
- Flexibility on which days of the week.
- Willingness to take on extra hours on a temporary basis for overtime pay.
