About The Position

Right at Home is seeking warm and supportive caregivers experienced in providing care to seniors. This role involves assisting seniors and disabled adults in Northwest Indiana with activities of daily living in their homes or care facilities. We offer flexible schedules, paid training, recognition, bonuses, and opportunities for promotions and raises. We are specifically looking for caregivers willing to work 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) and every other weekend, with a preference for those willing to work both day and overnight shifts to minimize caregiver contact in client homes. This particular opportunity is in Munster, with other roles available across Lake and Porter counties.

Requirements

A minimum of 1-year experience caring for a senior or adult.
Ability to competently perform assigned tasks.
Good communication skills.
Warmth and compassion for people under your care.
Completion of a criminal background check, BMV check, TB test, and drug screen.
Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Licensed CNA, HHA, and DSP certifications and experience (pay is commensurate).
Caregiving experience in a professional setting (agency and/or facility experience).
Previous experience working 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship, conversation, and activities.
Perform light housekeeping and run errands.
Transport or accompany clients to appointments.
Provide medication reminders.
Assist with personal care, including meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring, encouraging exercises, and grooming.
Perform charting and reporting, communicating concerns and changes in client condition to the office and care team.
