About The Position

Amada Senior Care – Orange County is hiring compassionate, dependable, and professional Caregivers / Home Care Aides (HCAs) to provide one-on-one, non-medical care to seniors in their homes throughout Orange County. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must successfully complete applicable background check and fingerprinting requirements
Must obtain and maintain an active California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration, when required
Must meet applicable tuberculosis (TB) clearance requirements
Must successfully complete Amada's required orientation and caregiver training program
Must complete required ongoing caregiver training and education
Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, mobility assistance, and transfers based on the client's care plan
Must be able to understand and follow client care plans, safety instructions, and emergency procedures
Must be able to communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and members of the Amada Care Team
Must be able to use a smartphone and company-approved applications for scheduling, timekeeping, communication, and documentation
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to reliably report to accepted client assignments
Must provide accurate and consistent ongoing availability
Must be able to maintain the regular availability provided at the time of hire
Must be able to commit to accepting shifts within either South Orange County or North/Coastal Orange County, based on the service area selected during the hiring process
Must be able to reliably travel throughout the selected service area to assigned client homes
Must follow company procedures when requesting changes to regular availability
Must maintain reliable and consistent attendance for accepted client assignments
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation
Current automobile insurance meeting applicable requirements
Acceptable driving record
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds
Assist clients with walking and mobility
Assist with transfers using appropriate techniques and approved equipment
Support clients who may be partial weight-bearing
Stand and walk for extended periods
Bend, kneel, squat, twist, and reach
Assist clients in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, showers, bathtubs, and vehicles
Turn and reposition clients
Perform repetitive movements associated with personal care
Maintain sufficient physical stamina to safely perform assigned duties

Nice To Haves

Previous professional caregiving experience (2 years+)
Experience working with seniors
CNA, HHA, MA, MT, BHT or other relevant caregiving or healthcare experience
Dementia or memory-care experience
Experience assisting with activities of daily living
Experience with mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
Weekend, evening, or overnight availability
Flexible availability and interest in additional hours
Strong communication and documentation skills
Compassionate, dependable, professional, safety-focused, and committed to treating every client with dignity and respect

Responsibilities

Assisting with bathing, showering, grooming, and personal hygiene
Assisting with dressing and undressing
Providing toileting and incontinence care
Assisting with walking and mobility
Providing safe transfer assistance according to the client's care plan and your training
Assisting clients in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs
Turning and repositioning clients
Providing fall-prevention and safety supervision
Preparing meals and snacks
Assisting with eating and hydration when appropriate
Providing medication reminders within the permitted scope of the position
Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
Engaging clients in activities, hobbies, and established routines
Accompanying clients on walks or approved outings
Completing client-related laundry
Changing bed linens
Performing light housekeeping related to the client's care
Maintaining a clean and safe client environment
Encouraging client independence whenever safely possible
Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition, behavior, or mobility
Promptly reporting falls, incidents, injuries, or safety concerns
Following individualized care plans and safety instructions
Accurately documenting care and services provided
Using company-approved technology for scheduling, timekeeping, and documentation
Communicating professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and the Amada Care Team
